Learn how to make a rag quilt blanket. If you can sew a straight line you can learn to make a trendy one-of-a-kind blanket for yourself or a loved one. We've combined the rag quilt design so popular in flannel and homespun fabrics with the exceptional warmth, comfort and durability of today's polar fleece fabrics. A winning combination! From fabric selection to sewing strategies, we'll virtually hold your hand through every step to ensure a successful quilting project. Beware...polar fleece rag quilts are habit forming.

As an added bonus, you will also learn the techniques needed to make a traditional cotton rag quilt as well. Beginner sewers as well as experienced quilters who welcome a break from intricate work will love this project.Once materials are assembled, rag quilts can be completed in a weekend. Upon completion of this self-paced course, students will create a unique rag quilt blanket suitable for gift giving, selling at a craft fair, or relaxing with at home. Lesson 1: Ragnificent Rag Quilts

Students will discover why rag quilts have become so popular in home decor and why beginner and advanced sewers alike just love to make them.

Lesson 2: Polar Fleece Rag Quilts: Technology Meets Tradition

Students will explore the world of polar fleece fabrics and how they are used to create modern versions of an old fashioned favorite. Students will begin the process of project and fabric selection.

Lesson 3: Gather Your Stuff

Students will determine the yardage needed to complete the quilt size of their choice. They will also identify and assemble all needed notions for a successful project.

Lesson 4: Let's Rock and Sew: Squaresville

Students will complete the first phase of their project: setting up the sewing machine, cutting fabric squares, matching and pinning fabric square pairs, sewing them together, and then finally removing the corners.

Lesson 5: Let s Rock and Sew: Making Rows, Getting it Together, and the Fringe-O-Rama

Students will assemble their fabric sandwiches into rows, sew these rows together and fringe the night away to complete a successful project.
