Course Instructor

Makko Ho exercises originated in Japan. They were developed to improve the flow of energy, known as "Qi", in our bodies. In Shiatsu, these exercises were used as a self healing technique for both the client and the practitioner. Makko Ho is a set of 6 exercises that work on a specific "pair" of meridians within the body. These exercises are said to enhance the flow of energy through the meridians as well as to enhance its function. The six exercises include the whole body and all the vital organs. Meridians are energy pathways within our bodies. It is the thought that if an injury occurs to one organ in the body, other organs along a particular pathway will also become affected over time. The Makko Ho exercises were designed to help "unclog" these pathways to keep our bodies healthy.

This course will give the student an introduction into the Five Elements and the Meridian system of the body. The student will then learn the 6 Makko Ho exercises to enhance their health and well being. The students will understand the benefits of a regular fitness program and learn how to add visualization and breathing techniques to enhance their workout. Students will leave this course with the knowledge of how their body works together along energy pathways. Students will become more aware of their mind and body connections as they will be able to "tune" in to their aches, pains and discomfort. This understanding of energy pathways will enable the student to bring back vital health to their own bodies and stop the progression of certain ailments and illnesses. Makko Ho can be used as preventative medicine keeping your body in tip top health and vitality.
